REFRIGERANT LEAK ERROR
Cause
(If code is intermittent or unit is cooling correctly): Main PCB or Temperature Sensor defect.
Solution
Try Reset.
If Reset does not work replace Main PCB and Temp Sensor(s).
Cause
Sealed System Leak.
Solution
Look for leaking sealed system component.
Look for oil on tubing.
Replace leaking part and repair sealed system.
***If unit contains R32 Refrigerant and is found to have a Sealed System issue then RA will need to be issued.
Contact TCC through the ticket system inside CS Portal with readings to properly troubleshoot***

Is the unit cooling properly?
The below is a quick calculation to get you in the ballpark…. We are looking for 10-20 degree temperature drop from your Return Air versus the Output Air for the unit to be working properly.
1) If the unit is cooling properly there could be a defect with the Main PCB or a temperature sensor giving a false code. Try Resetting the unit. Unplug for a few minutes and reconnect power. If the code clears and does not come back then suspect something tricked the board into displaying the error code. Explain to customer.
2) If the code comes back multiple times after trying reset but the unit is cooling properly then replace the Main PCB and Temp Sensors together.
If unit is not cooling properly…
Locate the leak or other Sealed System issue and repair. Remember that if the issue was a Low Side leak you need to replace the compressor as well.
***If unit contains R32 Refrigerant and is found to have a Sealed System issue then it may not be reparable. Contact LG Tech Support with readings to properly troubleshoot***
