EVAPORATOR "IN" TE4 ERROR

Cause

Evaporator “IN” Thermistor open or shorted.

Solution

Check the connectors.

Check the Thermistors resistance, 10-12Kohm at room temperature.

Check the PCB for 5Vdc.

The Evaporator Inlet thermister will be located in a holder on the copper tubing close to where the tubing enters the evaporator. The examples below show the thermistor located just past the expansion valve before entering the evaporator…

The Thermistor can be checked from the main board also and should have resistance of approximately 10K ± 10% at normal room temperature (see chart) . Be sure to check your model’s schematic to verify test points. Example from WKHC252.
