DEFROST HEATER ERROR
This error code may be displayed as either E rdH, or E fdH, reflecting Fresh food area, or Freezer area, respectively.
Cause
Defrost Failure, the Defrosting Sensor does not reach 40° within 80 minutes after starting defrost. Short or disconnection of the Heater Circuit.
Solution
Check the wiring and connections at Defrost Controller (Evaporators), and at the Main PCB.
DETAILS BELOW:
Sheath Heater = 44 ohm +/- 5%
L-Cord Heater = 156 ohm +/- 5%

No resistance on defrost heater
Replaced fresh food Evap, unit had a sealed system issue as well
1) Correct, depending on model, if the defrost sensor is reading above 46-55F the unit will skip the defrost step in test mode.
2) Test 1 runs full cooling to both evap coils, Test 2 runs the Refrigerator Section evap only, Test 3 energizes both defrost heaters at the same time when the screen shows “33 33” for dual evap models. Please check heater voltage on main PCB connector. Example, CON 7: Pin 6 & 12. If test mode 3 doesn’t display 120 v, possible inoperative main PCB.
