DRUM TEMP ERROR (Duct In)

Cause

Drum Temperature is too high.

Solution

Dryer fire detection (The system checks the “Duct In” temperature at 10-second intervals during drying; if it increases by more than 17 degrees) you will see the error.

DETAILS BELOW:

To access the “Duct in” sensor follow these steps

Step 1: Remove the filter.

Step 2: Remove the filter housing cap.

Step 3: Remove the filter housing bezel.

Step 4: Remove the Evaporator grill.

The sensor for “Duct In” is now exposed. The unit is looking for a spike in temperature from this sensor, such as an internal fire in the drum.

With the top of the unit off, you can easily check the status of the “Duct In” sensor from this connector.

The sensor from this test point will read with the harness:

Plugged in = 16k

Unplugged = 53k

At room temperature approximately 70 degrees.

It also may be necessary to remove the wire retainers on the connector to get a good connection.

If the sensor is reading out of range, you will need to replace the whole Duct assembly. However, the purpose of the error is to warn of a fire. If no evidence of a fire is found and the sensor checks good replace the Main PCB.

Note: If any part of the sealed system or sensors or blower located on the Duct Assembly is defective, you will have to replace the whole Duct Assembly.
