Cause
A spike in temperature in the drum has been detected.
Solution
The Low Temperature Thermistor is open/short or
There is an air flow problem.
LOCATION
The Thermistor can be checked from the main board also and should have resistance of approximately 10K ± 10% (see chart). Be sure to check your model’s schematic to verify test points. Example from WKHC252HBA.
If the Thermistor has proper resistance, make sure the Main PCB is outputting 5vdc, if not replace the main board.
If all the components check good, look for an airflow problem. Remove and inspect the Lint Filter assembly and inside the lint filter duct.
If the Lint Filter is clear, and you are sure you have an airflow problem, check the area beneath the drum in the evaporator area.
