– Detects when the temperature of the Steam Thermistor is less than 8℃ (46.4F) from the previous 3 seconds for 60 seconds.
Potential Causes:
1. Make sure the customer has a cold water source connected to the steam dryer. The hose will connect to the back of the unit as shown below. (Exact location on back of the dryer can vary by model).
If the customer has a cold water line installed on the unit make sure the water source valve is open and water is flowing to the dryer. Check the water supply line for kinks or restrictions.
2. Check the Dryer Water Valve…
3. Check the hose that connects from the water valve to the steam generator, make sure it is properly connected and not kinked or restricted…
4. Check the thermistor. The Thermistor has the two blue wires at the steam generator but the wire colors will vary at the Main PCB per model.
Use the table below to see if the thermistor is reading in the correct range. Make Sure and unplug the connector from the Main PCB to take an accurate reading…
Since the table above does not go down to the normal room temperature range, we will show you what we read at 68°F for reference (0.313 MΩ)…
5. Check the steam generator thermostats. Both thermostats should be closed at all times.
6. If everything above checks ok but the E3 error code continues to display it could just be a defective steam generator assembly. Replace the steam generator assembly.
If you want to ohm the steam generator heater it will check as below…
