Cause

Door / Lid is NOT CLOSED fully down.

Solution

Make sure that the lid is closed fully and press the Start/Pause button.

Check for items caught under the lid, including shipping material or clothing.

Insure the latch mechanism is fully retracted.

If it is a front display style top load washer be sure the handle is flipped to normal usage position.

If the lid is closed and this error message is still displayed then check the reed switch for continuity with a magnet on the reed switch and check for 5Vdc on the circuit.
