DRUM MOTOR HAS LOW AMPERAGE ERROR
OR COMPRESSOR ERROR
Special Note: The LE2 Error has different meanings based on if the Dryer is a standard Condensing model or a Heat Pump Model. Troubleshooting for both styles is described in the article below…
Standard Condensing:
Cause
Lint filter clogged
Solution
If filter is clogged, clean the filter
Cause
Main PCB is not supplying voltage to drum motor
Solution
Check Main PCB for voltage output to drum motor
DETAILS BELOW:
Check each motor winding for proper resistance range.
U to V = 20Ω ± 2Ω
V to W = 20Ω ± 2Ω
W to U = 20Ω ± 2Ω
Also check winding for 220 ~ 240 Volts ac.
If any winding is out of range then replace the motor. If the main board does not produce voltage then replace the main board.
Colors of wires are usually BLUE,
ORANGE & WHITE. Colors of motor wires may vary but will be the same motor
winding values.
If the dryer model you are working on starts with DLH or if the dryer is part of a washtower model starting with WKH it is a heat pump dryer.
The below information is for heat pump dryer models only.
Cause
Compressor failure.
Solution
Check compressor voltage and winding values, May require new compressor or Main PCB
Compressor resistance values are:
Yellow wire to Blue wire = 1.21 ±7%Ω
Yellow wire to White wire = 5.04 ±7%Ω
The voltage is 120Vac
The below wiring diagram is from model DLHX4072
The below example is for a heat pump dryer using an inverter BLDC Compressor 240Vac
Resistance : 2.56 ±0.3Ω (BLUE to RED)
Resistance : 2.56 ±0.3Ω (RED to BLACK)
Resistance : 2.56 ±0.3Ω (BLACK to BLUE)
