Cause

If the washing machine detects too many suds, it displays this error code and adds a Suds Reducing cycle. This adds about two hours to the cycle time.
If too many suds are detected during spin, the washing machine stops to help prevent leaking.

This washer is designed to use only HE (High- Efficiency) detergents.

Solution (When adding cleaning products.)

Fill the larger ezDispense reservoir with HE (High-Efficiency) liquid detergent. Fill the smaller reservoir with liquid fabric softener, if desired.

Use the front detergent compartment of the manual dispenser for liquid or powdered detergent, or oxygen-based bleach. Place liquid chlorine bleach ONLY in the bleach compartment at the back of the manual dispenser.

Liquid or powdered detergent packs are placed in the drum before loading laundry.

Do not place detergent packs in the dispenser.

Do not use more than one single-use detergent pack at a time in the washer

It may be necessary to perform at least one or more Tub Clean(s) with a product as Affresh ® on a regular basis, (see owners manual).

Detergent Type

All LG washers are recommended to use HE detergent. HE (high-efficiency) laundry detergents are specialized formulas made to use in HE washing machines. The main difference between an HE detergent and a regular one is the amount of suds. HE detergents produce less suds and are designed for the lower water environments of HE machines.

Pods

Laundry pods are pre-measured amounts of concentrated laundry detergent sealed in a plastic film that dissolves in the water during a wash cycle. These pods can help take the guesswork out of measuring the right amount of detergent. Each manufacturer has a different formulation, to get the best use of your LG Washer try different brands and find the one that works best for you.

Liquid

HE (High Efficiency) liquid detergents are very concentrated detergents, designed to be used in modern washing machines, that use a minimum amount of water. Being much more concentrated than older products, HE detergents can do a better job without using as much of the product, and if you use too much, you will have an oversudsing issue and this can cause leaks, as well as be detrimental to the laundry. Just be sure to use the correct amount of HE Liquid detergent. If you use the LG Auto Dosing Dispenser frequently, you will need to run the ezDispense Nozzle™ Clean, to clean the dispenser system.

Note: If you use a detergent that does not dissolve easily or a detergent with high viscosity, it will leave a residue or clog the dispenser.

Using the ezDispense Function

When the ezDispense function is turned on, the liquid detergent and softener are dispensed in the set amounts, at the appropriate time during the cycle.

The default settings are configured to dispense 1.5 oz (45ml) of detergent and 1oz (30 ml) of softener for 8-12lb (4-6kg) of normally soiled laundry. This can be changed using the Default Det. Dispense or Default Soft. Dispense setting.

For more details see “Additional Settings” in the Owners Manual.

Environment

The area you live in will affect the amount of detergent you will use. If you live in an area with Hard Water, you will need to use more detergent than someone who does not have Hard Water.
